Things I like to do outside of work:

I like boating, motorcross, drag racing and the great outdoors.  I like listening to rock and roll!

Experience:

I spent 16 years with General Motors and 4 years working in private shops.  These jobs included heavy line repair (transmission and engine repair along with all other drive train components.  I also worked as a shop foreman including electrical and engine performance diagnosis and mentorship/training of employees.

Why Automotive Technology is a great career option:

I feel the industry has a place for all types of people:  As a technician, automotive personnel, sales, customer service, parts counter, parts wholesale, fleet management and much more.  For people who like to work with their hands and find solutions, this field can be really rewarding.  No two days are ever the same so it is always interesting.  Financially it can be rewarding as well.

Advice:

No matter which way you go in your career – always do your best.  Always be open to learning and listen to others.

If you invest time into an automotive education you can use these skills for life, whether you go into the automotive industry or not.  These skills are also in demand and transferrable throughout the country.
