Welcome to Yuba College Athletic Training. Under the direction of the M.D. staff at Sutter North Medical Foundation Orthopedics, the Yuba College Sports Medicine Team provides medical services to our ten intercollegiate teams. Our on-site staff at Yuba College consists of a Certified Athletic Trainer dedicated in providing a positive environment for education, prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries for our participating student-athletes.

Location & Hours:
The Athletic Training Room is located in building 2000. Athletic Training Room hours are 10:00am-6:00pm Monday through Friday and on weekends to accommodate scheduled practice and/or games. - Please refrain from cell phone use unless permitted
- No food or drink other than water unless permitted
- Please remove cleats prior to entering
- Please remove shoes while on treatment tables
- Please shower prior to hydrotherapy room use
- In-season athletes typically have priority to out-of season athletes

Good Day to All! I became part of the Athletic Department Team at Yuba College in August 2005 providing my services as a Certified Athletic Trainer. I graduated from California State University, Sacramento Magna Cum Laude in 2001 in which I received my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training/Pre-Therapy. I became nationally certified in the Spring of 2002 and continued my education and growth as a health care provider through experience in hospital as well as clinical settings. I have experience with various populations including adolescence through geriatric, Olympic, and Special Olympic Athletes. As I truly admire the heightened potential of quality one on one care in the clinical setting, my passion for athletics has made Athletic Training the perfect fit. At Yuba College, my dedication remains to the continued progress of quality care for student-athletes through injury prevention, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, all encompassed education and awareness, compassion, and creative fun.

Robert R. Vogel, MD (Retired)
Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Dr. Vogel is a California transplant since the 1960’s. He attended Claremont Men’s College in Southern California, where he graduated cum laud with a BA in chemistry. He then spent the next nine years on post-graduate training in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from Emory University School of Medicine in 1985. He then completed a general surgery internship and a four-year residency program in orthopedic surgery at the Emory University affiliated hospitals.
He is board-certified in orthopedic surgery, with a special interest in sports medicine and adult reconstructive surgery. He joined North Valley Orthopedic and Hand Surgery in August of 1988 and became a partner in 1989. Dr. Vogel made a home in Yuba City with his wife and two children since 1988. He is an avid golfer and enjoys many outdoor sporting activities. Over the years he has volunteered his time coaching little league, and serving as the attending physician for local high school as well as Yuba College Football teams.
A few years back Dr. Vogel became part of Sutter North Medical Foundation, Orthopedics in which he practiced until retiring in 2019. He currently resides in North Carolina with his wonderful wife Audrey.
