Welcome to the Yuba College Athletic Hall of Fame website. Yuba College has a long, rich history of athletics, and the Hall of Fame aspires to honor that tradition with this annual event.

The process of initiating this exciting event began in 1995.  A group of former and present Yuba College employees and Yuba/Sutter area residents agreed to serve on the Hall of Fame committee. This group met regularly prior to that first Induction Ceremony where they organized and developed a nomination and selection process. With the help of many individuals we have compiled a nomination list of potential inductees.  We are aware that the list is not complete, and we will continue to add names of potential inductees yearly.  It has been a very informative and rewarding process for all of us who serve on the committee.

The primary goal of the Yuba College Athletic Hall of Fame is to permanently recognize individuals and teams for outstanding athletic contribution and/or participation at Yuba College.

The Hall of Fame committee encourages nominations. Nominations will be accepted at any time, but to be considered for the next Class of Inductees, the nominations need to be submitted by the Nov 1 date prior to the ceremony.

Message from athletic director Erick Burns:

Hello, All –

Just wanted to touch bases with you all about the Yuba College Athletic Hall of Fame. Obviously, MANY events are being affected, rescheduled, or cancelled due to COVID-19 virus concerns. We have postponed our spring athletic seasons, and shifted to emergency remote teaching protocols for our classes. We are also concerned about the Hall of Fame but given the event is a little over 5 weeks away (Apr 18) we are holding off a little longer before making a decision on this event. We will certainly communicate out as soon as we make the decision either way.

Inductees, please help communicate this with your guests, and certainly communicate with us your travel concerns if you have any.

Baseball Team, please help communicate among the members of this team, as not all have provided an email.

We WILL celebrate your induction. Rescheduling is a possibility, however shifting this event to another time of year can be problematic given other events in the department, college and community. If we have to cancel, or you are unable to attend, we will celebrate your induction the following year – as has been the past protocol. The baseball team will be honored as a team.

It’s important to us that all have a memorable good time. This event is usually very well attended, with many attendees being in that population most severely affected by this virus, so considering all’s health and well being is our highest priority. Be safe and vigilante with your health!
