Karlee Coughlin graduated from Sutter Union High School in 2016 playing on varsity So.-Sr. year. She received MVP Award her Freshman, Sophomore, and Senior year. Her junior year she received Offensive Player of the Year. Earned All-Area First Team her Junior and Senior year.
\nAfter high school, Karlee earned an athletic scholarship to Southern Oregon University where she earned 2017 Gold Glove and 1st Team All-Collegiate Cascade Conference.
\nShe transferred to Minot State University and in 2019 she earned 2nd Team All Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and became the 5th All-Time leading hitter in Minot State History. Unfortunately, COVID ended her career in 2020. While in Minot, ND she coached a travel team and coached at a local high school. In 2021, she coached at Sutter Union High School.

Robert Johnson- Assistant Coach<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Robert Johnson will be entering his 6th year as an assistant coach on the Yuba College softball staff.<\/div>\n
He has coached 2 MVP\u2019s, 1 Pitcher of the Year, 1 North State Pitcher of the Year, 1 JC All-American, 3 All-State, 12 First Team All-Conference and 12 Second Team All-Conference players.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Coach J has been coaching softball at the recreation, high\u00a0school and college level for 35\u00a0years.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Robert has also coached high school basketball for 29\u00a0years and 7 years with\u00a0the Yuba College women\u2019s program.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Coach J has been on the staff of 3\u00a0conference championships.\u00a0 One BVC basketball championship and 2\u00a0GVC softball\u00a0championships.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Coach J is a retiree of the State of California, a father of 3 adult children and grandfather\u00a0of 2.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
For the past 30 years, Coach J has spent his free time playing baseball in the Sacramento Men\u2019s Senior Baseball League.\u00a0 He has traveled to San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix Arizona and Fort Myers Florida for tournaments.<\/div>\n

Rich Rivera \u2013 Assistant Coach<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Rich Rivera joins the collegiate coaching ranks with a proven record of athletic excellence, leadership under pressure, and a deep commitment to player development. <\/span>
\nA Bronx native and graduate of Harry S. Truman High School, Rivera distinguished himself as a four-year varsity starter, earning All-City honors in both his junior and senior years. His standout performance on the field garnered attention from Major League scouts, including the Atlanta Braves, underscoring his potential to compete at the highest levels of the game. <\/span>
\nCoach Rivera’s early career was marked by elite experiences that shaped his understanding of high-pressure competition. At age 12, he represented New York City as the starting shortstop in the internationally recognized Sister City Baseball Series, competing against Tokyo\u2019s All-Star Team at both Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium\u2014an honor that signaled his trajectory as a rising talent. Following high school, Coach Rivera continued his playing career at the NCAA Division III level with John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Despite showing promise as a collegiate athlete, he made the difficult decision to step away in order to care for his mother during a period of medical hardship\u2014an act that reflects the character and selflessness that now define his coaching style. In 2009, <\/span>
\nCoach Rivera enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving with distinction until 2017. His military background adds a unique dimension to his coaching\u2014instilling in him an emphasis on discipline, accountability, resilience, and team cohesion, all of which are hallmarks of his approach to athlete development. <\/span>
\nFrom 2017 to 2024, Coach Rivera led at both the junior varsity and varsity levels at Wheatland Union High School, where he built a reputation as a transformative coach and mentor. Under his guidance, 12 players earned all-league honors, and one student-athlete was named runner-up for Player of the Year in the competitive Pioneer Valley League (PVL). His developmental philosophy prioritizes fundamentals, mental toughness, and personal growth, empowering athletes to reach their full potential both on and off the field. <\/span>
\nAs he enters his first season at the junior college level, Coach Rivera brings not only technical expertise but also a clear vision for building competitive, character-driven teams. His unique blend of high-level playing experience, military leadership, and impactful high school coaching positions him to make an immediate and lasting contribution to the program and its student-athletes.<\/span><\/p>\n
