The effective date of the YCCD vaccination and testing policy is January 24, 2022, for students. As of that date, all students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have submitted weekly testing documentation to be on any YCCD campus or participate in any face-to-face district activities for more than 15 minutes.

Yes! Students have the option of weekly testing, full vaccination or taking all on-line courses and utilizing on-line student services.

YCCD is developing a vaccine incentive program for all YCCD students who are fully vaccinated, register, and attend class during the Spring 2022 semester. Students taking online courses, dual enrollment courses, credit, and non-credit courses can participate in this program. Students who meet all the criteria will be eligible for a $200 Amazon gift card. Gift card access codes will be emailed to student’s college email in mid-February.

Testing and vaccination clinics will be offered at each campus location. There are many other locations that also offer testing and vaccination. Students can get tested on campus or can test at other, off-campus locations. Individuals may obtain a COVID-19 vaccine from any County provider or health care provider authorized to administer the vaccine. Anyone wanting to schedule a vaccination appointment can also visit the State of California's MyTurn website. Students must upload their vaccine or testing results.

The effective date for all student workers, faculty, staff, administrators and volunteers to be vaccinated is December 1, 2021. As of that date, employees must be fully vaccinated or submit to weekly testing.

Vaccines must be FDA approved; have an emergency use authorization from the FDA; or, for persons fully vaccinated outside the United States, be listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO). “Fully vaccinated” means the District has documented that the person received, at least 14 days prior, either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine series or a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. If COVID-19 vaccine boosters become necessary to prevent the contraction and transmission of the virus that causes COVID-19, students and employees will need to get boosters. At this time, booster shots are not required. This could change if the public health authorities, including the CDC, the California Department of Public Health (“CDPH”), or the County Department of Public Health indicate that a COVID-19 vaccine booster is necessary based on the COVID-19 vaccine that the employee/student received and the date upon which they became fully vaccinated.

Students who have not met the vaccine requirement will be permitted to register for Spring 2022 courses. YCCD students who are not fully vaccinated by January 24, 2022 can take online courses and not come to any YCCD campus or they can be tested weekly for COVID-19.

No, students will not be automatically transferred to an online offering of the course(s). However, students may enroll in online courses that are still open for enrollment. Students’ eligibility for financial aid is dependent on the number of course units they are enrolled in. Students who withdraw from a course or are withdrawn from a course, may receive less financial aid or be required to repay some or all of the funding they have received. Additionally, withdrawing from a course may impact a student’s ability to receive financial aid based upon Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements. Students should contact their college’s financial aid office to discuss for more information.

Students will be dropped from their face-to-face courses on the effective date of the disciplinary determination and will receive the same notation (“W” or “F”) as if the student had initiated the drop as of that date. Administrative drops are considered attempts for repeat purposes. Therefore, if a student is administratively dropped due to the discipline process from a course they are attempting for the third time, they may be unable to take the course again at the Yuba Community College District. Additionally, students should be aware that an administrative drop could impact their financial aid and they may be required to repay some of their aid depending on the date they are dropped from any in-person course.
