Kevin Orton is a Professor of Chemistry at the Marysville Campus of Yuba College where he has worked since 2005.  His journey to teaching Chemistry started at Jan Joaquin Delta College in Stockton CA in 1984, continued at California State University Sacramento where he earned a BA in Chemistry with a Biochemistry emphasis in 1992.  From there, He sojourned to the University of California at Riverside (Go Highlanders!) where he earned his Masters (1996) and Doctorate (2000) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.  He has been teaching introductory, general, and organic chemistry since 2000, where he first taught part-time at Riverside Community College, then at Menifee Valley College, Mt. San Jacinto Community College, and San Bernardino Valley College.  He has been a full-time instructor of Chemistry at Yuba College since 2005 and a tenured Professor of Chemistry since 2009.

As of December 2020, he is the proud father of two (ages 26 and 22) and the husband of one awesome woman.  He a very spiritual person, being an ordained minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses since 1996 and attends the North Marysville Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Marysville
