Theatre Arts – Associate Degree for Transfer (ADT)
What is an Associate Degree for Transfer?
An Associate Degree for Transfer is a special degree offered through the California Community Colleges that gives you the opportunity to save time and money by guaranteeing you a saved spot at many four-year universities in California. When you complete an Associate Degree for Transfer, you may be given an admission advantage when applying to impacted campuses or majors. In most cases with this degree, you have the opportunity to complete two degrees with only 120 units if you apply and are admitted into a similar major or degree program to earn your bachelor’s degree. The best part of the deal? When you earn one of these degrees, you’ll transfer to a university with junior standing. When you are admitted to a program that has been deemed similar, you will, in most cases, require only 60 more semester units (or 90 quarter units) to complete a bachelor’s degree.
How can I earn a transfer degree in Theatre Arts?
To earn an ADT Theatre Arts degree, students must:
- Complete the required 18 units for the Theatre Arts ADT program (See below)
- Meet the following ADT requirements:
- Completion of 60-semester units that are eligible for transfer to a CSU
- Complete the Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or the California State University General Education – Breadth Requirements.
- Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
- Earn a grade of “C” or better in all Theatre Arts classes
