How did you find your passion at Yuba College?
I found my passion by taking different classes in Early Childhood Education. As I took these classes, I learned not only the class material, but I learned a lot about myself and what I can do to create a successful classroom.
What faculty member helped you in pursuing your passion/vision?
All of the ECE professors at Yuba College were great. I really enjoyed taking Michelle Saluzzo’s classes, and looked forward to going to class every week. Her passion for Early Childhood Education and her positive attitude made the classes fun and entertaining.
What were you doing before coming to Yuba College?
Before I came to Yuba College I was a hairdresser in a salon. I decided to go back to school when I realized I wanted to pursue a career in teaching.
What advice do you have for current or prospective students?
My advice would be to never quit school, even when it gets discouraging. I chose to work full time and go to school part time, which took me a lot longer to receive my degree than typical for most people. It got discouraging at times, because it felt as if I would never get there. I‘m so glad that I kept with it and finally received my associates degree!
