On May 26, 2023, Yuba College held its 95th Commencement Ceremony. Conferring 969 degrees and 82 certificates to 757 students. An astounding 400 students were first -generation college students. Graduates were able to participate in activities such as a 360-video booth, and a photo booth with a professional photographer. Campus life distributed snacks and drinks for our graduates and had a glam team ready to assist our graduates. Pom poms, cowbells, and air horns were distributed to our guests so that they could celebrate their graduates as loud as possible. Their success couldn’t have been celebrated on a more beautiful night. With beautiful blue skies as a backdrop roughly 300 students entered the Yuba College Athletic Stadium filled with over 1500 of their closest family and friends. Winifred Taliaferro, ASYC President, gave a heartfelt inspiring speech reminding faculty, administrators, and staff why we do what we do and inspiring current and future students to never give up. The night ended with fog machines and sparklers and the Graduates exiting the stadium being honored by the Faculty and Administrators who have had the pleasure of working with them during their time at Yuba College.
