STATE RESOURCES

California Warm Line

The California Peer-Run Warm Line is a 24/7 non-crisis emotional support phone and chat line serving residents of California. The California Peer-Run Warm Line is made up entirely of peers, meaning that all Warm Line Counselors have lived experience with mental health challenges. Our goal is to support our callers in emotional distress before they reach a crisis point. Anyone residing in California can call the California Peer-Run Warm Line. We serve people of all demographics. Anyone who wants to connect with a peer counselor is encouraged to call. The California Peer-Run Warm Line is not an advice line. It is our goal to empower our callers to identify their own path forward, offer support, and increase resiliency and self-advocacy.

CalHOPE

For times when you feel stressed, anxious, depressed or worried, you are not alone, CalHOPE is a free California statewide resource for anyone who needs connected to resources and support.

NATIONAL RESOURCES

National Hotline for Mental Health Crises and Suicide Prevention

This 24/7 hotline is provided by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Mental health crises and suicides can be devastating for individuals, families, and communities. The number 9-8-8 was developed as a quicker and easier way to connect with the hotline rather than remembering a 10-digit number.

  • In a crisis call or text: 988

Additional resources from NAMI:

  • Helpline (Phone): 800-950-6264 (7am-7pm Pacific Time)
  • National Suicide Prevention Hotline: 800-273-8255 (TALK)
  • Text: Text the word “HelpLine” to 62640 (7am-7pm Pacific Time)
  • Website: https://www.nami.org/home
