Our Mission

Together, we are committed to building a culture of care, connection, and holistic support for all students and employees. Through collaborative initiatives, personalized engagement, and targeted events, we work to ensure that caring actions are at the heart of every campus experience.

What is Caring Campus?

The Institute for Evidence-Based Change (IEBC) developed Caring Campus based on research showing that students who feel connected to their college are more likely to thrive and achieve their academic goals. This initiative focuses on fostering strong connections among students and staff to create a welcoming atmosphere, promoting a positive campus culture that supports student and employee success.

What is happening on Campus?

Name Badges – redesigning and increasing use of name badges so that Yuba College employees are identifiable and approachable, especially for students. Don’t have your employee name badge yet? Make an appointment!

Engagement Circle – Being conscious of others in our vicinity. Smiling, saying hello, or offering a simple wave, makes sure others know we are available if they need assistance.

Hosting Departmental Open Houses – increasing departmental awareness so all campus groups—faculty, administration, classified confidential professionals, and classified professionals—knows what each department does, where they are located, the resources they offer, and who works there.
