Chrystal GillmingAthlete of the Month, Student Spotlight, Yuba Spotlight

Yuba College proudly recognizes Clarissa Recendez as our Athlete of the Month for her outstanding performance, leadership, and dedication to both academics and athletics.

A native of Linda, California, Clarissa is a graduate of River Valley High School, where she finished her high school career as the third all-time leading goal scorer in school history. Carrying that scoring pedigree into the college game, Clarissa has quickly established herself as one of the most dangerous attackers in the state.

Currently majoring in Biomedical Engineering, Clarissa balances a demanding academic load while excelling on the field. Her ultimate goal is to continue her soccer career and education at the next level, where she plans to build on her strong start at Yuba.

Clarissa’s accomplishments this month speak for themselves. She is currently #1 in the state in shots (39), tied for #8 in goals (4), tied for #5 in assists (5), and tied for #8 in total points (13). Her highlight performance came in a thrilling match against Shasta College, where she recorded an impressive hat-trick to lead the 49ers to victory.

Beyond the stats, Clarissa’s leadership is equally impactful. Serving as a team captain as a freshman, she sets the standard for effort, preparation, and composure. Her relentless attacking mindset and ability to create scoring opportunities elevate the play of those around her and inspire her teammates to compete at their best.

Clarissa Recendez exemplifies what it means to be a Yuba College 49er; talented, driven, and committed to excellence in the classroom and on the field. We are proud to honor her as Athlete of the Month for her remarkable achievements and bright future ahead.
