Why study theatre and performing arts?

According to the 2020 Otis Report on the Creative Economy, “the creative industries support 2.68 million jobs, $209.6 billion in labor income, and $650.3 billion in annual output. Over 1.0 million workers are directly employed in the creative industries, with an additional 1.6 million jobs generated indirectly. The direct employment generated by the state’s creative industries and the indirect employment they create through multiplier effects constitute 15.4% of California’s total employment.”
