Yuba College is excited to honor you during our 98th Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in our Outdoor Athletic Stadium. This is a ticketed event, and all guests will be required to have a valid ticket upon entrance to the Commencement ceremony. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m., and staff will be prepared to check tickets prior to entrance. Seating will be open inside the stadium, and guests may take the seat of their choice. Our Commencement ceremony will begin on time – we have over 350 graduates participating in this year’s ceremony, and we anticipate that the ceremony will last over two hours. The ceremony will be live streamed through Zoom via the following link: Live Stream Zoom Link. Please note that this link may only be used by ONE household per graduate, so as not to overload the system. This link will also be available on the Yuba College Graduation website: https://yc.yccd.edu/campus/graduation/instructions/. Please note that the Zoom link will also provide translation of the ceremony in four additional languages; Spanish, Punjabi, Farsi and Hmong. You will be able to use this link to access all the different languages on the day of: Yuba Zoom Link – Access to Different Languages

Commencement Publications: Printed programs will be made available at the ceremony for the Class of 2026 and will also be posted on the Yuba College Graduation website on the day of Commencement.

Website and Social Media: Updated Commencement information will be posted on the Yuba College Graduation website. You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram (#YCProud) — graduates are invited to share their day with us!

Photography and Video: Bring your beautiful smiles, as we’ll have a professional photographer and videographer capturing every moment of your special day. You will receive a portrait with College President, Dr. Tawny Dotson, as a gift, taken when you receive your diploma. You can expect to receive this portrait via your Yuba College email approximately 3 weeks after the ceremony.

Safety: Although Yuba College does not anticipate security problems during Commencement, we take extraordinary measures to ensure the safety of all persons at our events. Please do not leave any valuable belongings in your vehicle and carry only necessary items with you. Don’t forget to bring your cap, gown, and tassel! REMINDER: **No high heels under 2″ wide are permitted on the field**

When to arrive and where to park: We ask graduates to arrive by 5:40 p.m. We recommend you park toward the back of the West Lot. Follow the path on Sierra Street towards the Gym (Building 1200), where graduates will check in. High heels will be measured at check-in and must be at least two (2) inches wide.

Graduation Area: Please come to the Gym (Building 1200) to check in – this will be the graduate staging area where you will line up before the ceremony processional. When you arrive, please check in and fill out your name card. During the ceremony, you will hand your name card to the announcer as you walk up the ramp – be sure to write your name phonetically (how it sounds) so it will be pronounced correctly. The graduate staging area will include a touch-up station, group photos, and water. We will begin lining up graduates for the ceremony processional promptly at 6:40 p.m. Please DON’T BE LATE!

Graduation Processional: At 6:40 p.m., graduates will begin forming two lines in preparation for the processional. The line you are in will correlate to one side of the seating area for graduates. Each row will have 20 seats. Please follow the path indicated by the arrows and walk along the track until you reach the 50-yard line. Each line will turn into its respective side and begin filling the rows of seats.

Ceremony Walk-Through: Please refer to the above diagram and follow the directions to each numbered area. There will also be staff members indicating when to stand up and begin the process toward the stage.

  • 1. Line up: You will stand and be escorted to line up, starting with the front row. Have your name card ready!
  • 2. Name cards: You will walk up to the ramp and hand your name card to one of the announcers at the podium. President Dotson will be at center stage and will look at you when she is ready for you to walk towards her.
  • 3. Diploma portrait: At center stage, you will receive your diploma and shake hands with President Dotson. There will be a photo taken at this time, after which you will exit via the center ramp./li>
  • 4. Return to seat: Look for the red carpet, turn and walk toward your respective side, back to your seat. A staff member will guide you back toward your row.

Ceremony Recessional: After the first two rows of faculty exit their seats, please wait for an indication from a staff member to stand and begin your recessional. Please walk down the 50-yard line toward the track, then turn right to the exit gates. Please proceed outside the Athletic Stadium to reunite with your friends and family members. There are excellent locations across campus to take photographs.

Family and Guests: For those attending the 98th Commencement Ceremony, important event logistics will be posted on the Yuba College’s graduation website on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. https://yc.yccd.edu/campus/Graduation/
