If a Yuba College Academic Senate (YCAS) appointee is absent for more than four consecutive meetings or more than half the meetings in an academic year, their position will be considered vacant. At this point the committee chair will notify the appointee and YCAS President-Elect of the vacancy. The President-Elect will seek a replacement by following the YCAS Policy on Senate Appointments. The initial appointee is permitted to reapply for the position. An appointee who anticipates extended absency due to sabbatical leave, illness, or other reasons may contact the committee chair and President-Elect to nominate a substitute who meets the criteria for the position and will serve as a substitute for no longer than one year to avoid their position being deemed vacant.
