Affordable Higher Education for Career Training at Yuba College – Join the Conversation!
For 100 years, Yuba College along with the District have provided affordable higher education and skilled job training for our communities for decades.
We are proud that, while other education districts are having trouble bringing students back, overall enrollment at Yuba College has returned to pre-COVID levels. The affordable, hands-on career training is a big reason for our enrollment success.
The cost to attend a CSU or UC has grown to at least six times that of a community college. The District is working hard to make sure this affordable education for local career training can continue into the future.
But as more students enroll, and our facilities age, it has become harder to expand and improve classrooms and specialized career training workspaces. These spaces are needed to help students gain hands-on skills for today’s in-demand careers, including nursing and healthcare, police and firefighting, construction trades, technology, forestry management, and more.
To address our needs and to continue to serve our communities well, Yuba College, together with the Yuba Community College District, recently began outreach to identify campus priorities. That’s why we want to hear from you! Please join the conversation and tell us which services we should prioritize by completing our community survey today.
If you are part of a civic organization and would like a Yuba Community College District representative to attend your next meeting to discuss the District’s needs and gather input on priorities, please contact the Chancellor’s Office at yccdchancellorsoffice@yccd.edu.
