Our January Athlete of the Month is home-grown Yuba City High School Alum Sam Hurley.  Sam is a Business major and hopes to continue his academic and athletic career at a four-year university.  Sam has had an impressive start to his sophomore season here at Yuba College.  Head Coach Dave Rodriguez describes Sam as one of the best players in the Bay Valley Conference, which is not an exaggeration.  Sam leads the team in hits (10) and RBIs (4).  Sam is batting .450 on the year so far and has 2 stolen bases.  Sam’s defensive skills are also excellent as he is a strong candidate for All-Conference honors.
