Use this checklist when reviewing a program proposal or revision. This page is an accessible web version of the checklist.

Basic program information

  • Read the rationale.
  • Confirm the program goal is appropriate.

Feasibility

  • Relationship to the mission of the College: Does the record reflect the College mission?
  • Place of the program: Has the faculty member explained how this program fits within other programs offered by the department and College?
  • Similar programs: Has the faculty member explained how this program fits within the service area or region?

Description

  • Does the catalog description clearly, in student-friendly language, explain what students will do and learn in the program?
  • Program goals and objectives: Has the faculty member explained the goals and objectives of the program?
    Note: These are not the PSLOs. This section should be similar to Course Objectives on the COR.

Course blocks

  • Select the Reports icon and view the program summary. Confirm that the program structure makes sense, course blocks are labeled clearly,
    and totals/units calculate correctly.

  • Labor market information: Has the faculty member summarized the labor market information in one paragraph?
  • Advisory committee recommendations:
    1. Is a list of advisory committee members included?
    2. Has the faculty member summarized the advisory committee recommendations in one paragraph?
