Award Details

Receipt of initial payment is considered an acceptance of the terms and conditions of the award offer.  Federal Regulation 690.78 Authorizes the school to pay students using their normal disbursement method or by credit to their accounts for any unpaid charges of tuition and fees.

What is an Award Letter?

Pell Grant
Student’s award information may indicate a total Fall/Spring/Summer award.  The amount will be stated for full-time enrollment.  The amount paid will be based on the student’s enrolled units.  The award will be divided into two disbursements per semester as follows: 

First Disbursement (Semester)-consists of 1/2 of the total semester award based on enrolled units.

Second Disbursement (Semester)-consists of 1/2 of total semester award.  If your enrollment status changes your payment may be prorated accordingly to the established date.

Students cannot accept awards if they are receiving financial aid from another school during the same school year/enrollment period.  Students MUST DECLINE THIS OFFER AND REPORT this information immediately to the Financial Aid Office. 

Failure to do so may require immediate repayment of any funds received.

California College Promise Grant (Formerly known as BOG Fee Waiver)
Student’s award information is based on full-time enrollment.  There is no disbursement to the student of amounts listed under Fee Waiver awards.  The funds are used to cover tuition for the student’s enrolled units,  and to reduce the semester parking fee for Fall and/or Spring semester.

CalGrant
Student’s award information may indicate a total Fall/Spring award.  The amount will be stated for full-time enrollment.  The amount paid will be based on student’s enrolled units and a student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units.  The award will be divided into two disbursements per academic year as follows: 

First Disbursement (Typically Fall Semester)-consists of 1/2 of the total academic award based on enrolled units.

Second Disbursement (Typically Spring Semester)-consists of 1/2 of total academic award based on enrolled units.
