Before you get started here are Five Good Tips you may need before completing our
Tip 1: Be sure to use the correct year’s forms when completing
the FAFSA Application.

  • 2019-2020 forms for Fall 2019, Spring 2020 and Summer 2020
Tip 2: Complete and send verification and tax forms only
if requested to do so. If selected for verification you will receive a student email with a link to the required worksheet and instructions.
Tip 3: Verification forms must be fully completed and signed; please
be sure to check that no items have been left blank before sending the forms to
your campus Financial Aid Office.
Tip 4: If you use estimated income information on the FAFSA,
be sure to make a correction to the information as soon as your actual income information
is available. If you are selected for verification the Financial Aid office
will make these corrections for you
Tip 5: If you are a new applicant for the CAL Grant, be sure
to complete your FAFSA and submit your CAL Grant GPA Verification form in advance
of the March 2nd deadline.  The California Student Aid Commission does not
make exceptions to the March 2nd deadline.
