Yuba College Promise Program
Starting in Fall 2019, the Yuba College Promise Program will pay tuition for
all new, first-time, full-time college students up to 15 units per semester.
Who is eligible?
All first-time college students, including students who earned college units while still in high school who:
- are California Residents or AB540 eligible
- complete a FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application
- enroll in and complete 12 or more units
Note: full time is considered 12 units or more
Is this program free for all students?
Yes, this program is not awarded on the basis of financial need. Yuba College students qualify for free tuition for up to 15 units per semester.
Note: If the students have 16 units or more they will be responsible for the tuition difference.
What is covered?
The Promise program covers tuition for 15 units per semester for the first two semesters of enrollment.
Are student fees such as health and course material fees covered?
No, the student’s are responsible for health fees, course material fees, books, etc.
How will tuition be paid?
Students’ fees will be waived once their eligibility is determined. No direct cash disbursements will occur.
How long is this program good for?
The Promise program covers students’ first year. Enroll today!
How do students retain program eligibility?
Students must complete 12 units with a 2.0 minimum in the first term (Fall), the tuition waiver will be terminated in the following term (Spring) if the student does meet the program requirements.
